In Catalonia is very typical to eat calçots, a vegetable that is like a very large onion. You put a napkin on your chest, stand up, hold up the calçot with one hand, look up at the sky and eat it. It's one of the best things ever. The months between february and march are the perfect ones to organise a calçotada with friends, take note!

El cap de setmana del 29 d'Octubre de 2019, amb els amics que vam fer a l'Erasmus vam anar a Perugia, un poble a prop de Roma. Aquell cap de setmana feien el festival de la xocolata i vam anar-hi a passar el dia. 

On the weekend of October 29 2020, with the friends we made during Erasmus we went to Perugia, a village close to Rome. That weekend it was held the chocolate festival and we went there to spend the day.

Vam passar pel Colisseo a les 7 del matí. El nostre tren sortia de Termini a les 7.30h
We passed through the Colisseo around 7 in the morning. Our train left Termini at 7.30h

El poble que semblava Perugia, però no ho era

The village that looked like Perugia, but it wasn't


Fragment del diari:
 "29 d'Octubre 2019. Se m'acaba la tinta, haig de comprar-me més bolígrafs. Volia parlar de la conversa que vam tenir amb la Javiera (Xile) i la Kasia (Polonia) al tren tornant de Perugia. Em va agradar escoltar-les parlar i entendre com funcionava la seva universitat i la concepció que tenien sobre l'arquitectura. Enriquir-te de la seva visió. Amb la Kasia hi ha una predisposició a escoltar-nos mútuament. A sincerament escoltar les nostres opinions, hi ha un gran respecte. Nodrir-te. Feia molt de temps que algú no em preguntava la meva opinió sobre coses i estava de debò interessat en saber-la. Crec que amb la Kasia ens passa algo així. El moment en el parc en el que ella em ve amb tota la curiositat del món a preguntarme què faig i a volguer saber més em va encantar, va ser un moment de sinceritat absoluta, de genuinament estar les dues escoltant-nos, aprenent l'una de l'altre." 

A continuació els dibuixos que vaig fer abans que vingués la Kasia.

"October 29, 2019. I'm running out of ink, I have to buy more pens. I wanted to talk about the conversation we had with Javiera (Chile) and Kasia (Poland) on the train returning from Perugia. I enjoyed hearing them talk and understand how their university worked and their conception of architecture. Enriching myself with their vision. With Kasia there is a predisposition to listen to each other. To listen sincerely to our opinions, there's a lot of respect. It's been a long time since someone asked me my opinion on things and they were really interested in knowing. I think something like this happens between me and Kasia. The moment in the park where she comes to me with all the curiosity in the world to ask me what I was doing and wants to know more I loved it, it was a moment of absolute sincerity, of genuinely being both listening to us, learning from each other."

Existe un concepto que es el de la serendipia, que consiste en un hallazgo valioso que se produce de manera accidental o casual

There is a concept, which is known as serendepity that consists of the occurrence of an unplanned fortunate discovery.

Eso mismo me ocurrió un día que iba caminando por la calle y de pronto me fijé en que en uno de los palos de las paradas del autobús había un cartel con una fotografia de una llama saliendo por la ventanilla de un coche. 

This happened to me one day when I was walking down the street and suddenly I noticed that on one of the poles of the bus stops there was a poster with a picture of a llama coming out of the window of a car.

Me quedé sorprendida así que me paré a mirar que decía el cartel. Anunciaba una exposición fotográfica de una fotógrafa austríaca llamada Inge Morath en el Museo in Trastevere. 

I was surprised so I stopped to look at what the poster said. It was announcing a photographic exhibition of an Austrian photographer named Inge Morath at the Museum in Trastevere.

Decidí ir ese fin de semana a verla. En la muestra había más de 140 fotografías, carteles y un video en donde se explicaba su vida. 

I decided to go that weekend to see it. The exhibition had more than 140 photographs, posters and a video where her life was explained.

A parte de pasear viendo sus fotografías me detuve a ver el video. Al principio, ella no era fotógrafa, era periodista y entró a trabajar en una agencia de fotografía, Magnum Photos con el trabajo de buscar los lugares y las historias para que luego los fotógrafos pudieran hacer el reportaje fotográfico. 

Besides walking around looking at the photographs, I stopped to watch the video. At the beginning she was not a photographer, she was a journalist and went to work in a photography agency, Magnum Photos with the specific task of looking for places and stories so that photographers could then do the photo report.

Un día de viaje, ella se encontraba sola en Venecia y vió algo en la isla que le llamó la atención, así que llamó a su jefe y le dijo algo así como "llama a los fotógrafos y que vengan a Venecia, toda la vida aquí es muy interesante, tenemos que hacer un reportaje sobre esto, hay muchísimas historias". Su jefe le dijo "no los puedo llamar ahora y decirles que vayan immediatamente a Venecia, por qué no las haces tú?" 
A lo que a ella le dijo "pero yo no soy fotógrafa, no sé hacer fotos"
Y él le respondió "Eso es igual, tienes ojos verdad? Cómprate una cámara, aprende por encima como funciona y tan solo observa hasta encontrar el momento oportuno. Al fin y al cabo eres tú quién nos estás dando todas estas historias"

One day she was traveling  alone in Venice and saw something on the island that caught her attention, so she called her boss and said something like "call the photographers and tell them to come to Venice, all life here is very interesting, we have to do a report on this, there are many stories." 
His boss said "I can't call them now and tell them to go to Venice immediately, why don't you do it yourself?" To which I said "but I'm not a photographer, I don't know how to take photos" And he replied "That doesn't matter, do you have eyes right? Buy a camera, learn how it works and just watch until you find the right moment. After all, it is you who is giving us all these stories"

Y así es como ella empezó a tomar fotografías. 

And that is how she started taking photos.

Aquí vienen expuestas algunas de las fotografías que más me gustaron. 

Here there are displayed some of the photographs that I liked the most.

Es curioso porque parece que algunas de las escenas son también por serendipia, encontrarse en el momento y lugar oportuno para ver algo que de otra forma no se hubiese visto, como aquel cartel de la parada de autobús. 

It is curious because it seems that some of the scenes are also due to serendipity, being at the right time and place to see something that otherwise it would have never been seen, such as that sign at the bus stop.
